St Kilda Film Festival fires up the projectors each year and showcases some of the best new films around.

We were approached to visually celebrate their 35th anniversary, with the main objective to show the multitude of stories being told at the festival while capturing the essence of the St Kilda area.

We wondered what it might look like if the St Kilda area (known for it’s wild activities) was treated like a storybook? Our response was a deep, multi-layered illustration, made from cut paper, representing the depth of the festival and art-deco inspired elements that make up the St Kilda charm.

Posters, venue signage, online advertising, webpage artwork, direct mail and a 70-page program booklet were rolled out. Over the festival period there were 13,000 attendees, the official festival website garnered over 113,000 views, and Facebook saw a total reach of 435,364 with 90 reactions per day on average. A very happy (and successful) end to the story!
